Does Deep TMS require any special equipment or facilities?

Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS™) therapy relies on BrainsWay’s cutting edge technology and the mental health practitioner’s expertise for successfully treating a variety of mental health conditions. The Deep TMS device itself utilizes BrainsWay’s patented H-coil technology to activate an electromagnetic field that safely regulates neural activity related to various mental health conditions.

In order to operate the Deep TMS device and assure the patient receives the best possible care, several facility requirements need to be met:

  • A treatment room large enough to hold the Deep TMS device. The device’s measurements and electrical information are as follows: ○ Weight: 340lbs (145kgs). ○ Device height: 81” (2 meters). ○ Device depth: 27” (68cm). ○ Device width: 27” (68cm). ○ Voltage: 100-240VAC. ○ Frequency: 50/60Hz. ○ Fuse Rating: 100-120V/20A, 200-240V/16A.

  • An air-conditioned room with a temperature between 65-77 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • A relative humidity range of 10-80%.

  • Doors with a width of at least 31.5” (to bring the machine into the building).

  • An internet connection.

  • A comfortable chair with a straight back for the patient to sit in.

  • When treating OCD: having the related stimuli on hand to activate the relevant symptoms (e.g. a broom/dustbin for individuals whose OCD centers on compulsive cleaning).

The above requirements are meant to provide patients with a pleasant, professional, effective and above all safe treatment experience, so they may benefit from the Deep TMS therapy and go through the treatment process with little to no discomfort.

BrainsWay invests not only in its groundbreaking Deep TMS equipment but also in training practitioners on how to operate its Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation device to produce effective, proven results for their patients.

In addition to BrainsWay’s Deep TMS treatment and helping practitioners gain greater experience, providing patients with an environment conducive to their therapeutic regimen also acts as an integral part of the Deep TMS process. Creating an inviting, professional atmosphere can help put a patient’s mind at ease, allowing them to focus on the treatment they are receiving. As such, additional suggestions include providing a comfortable waiting area for patients before and after treatments and having BrainsWay’s brochures or videos on hand for interested clients.
